TRACKING JUDGE
I have been in this sport we love for many years, titling my first dog in 1988. I retired in 2007 as a Sgt. at Appleton Police Department in Wisconsin after over 25 years of service, including being a handler of a dual-purpose patrol and narcotic detection dog. I was a trainer of police dogs, a DPO judge and competed in two WPO Championships. In 1990 I traveled with my patrol dog to Germany to attend the Landes Polizei Schüle für Diensthundführers, in Stuckenbrock. At that
time I was the first female to attend the training, and only the third American. While I was still working, I was also active in Search and Rescue. I was a member of two wilderness SAR teams and was also a K9 team member of Wi-TF1, working live-find USAR dogs. Both were trained and certified by FEMA evaluators to the Type1/CE level and I was fortunate to attend Canine Search Specialist training at Disaster City, in Texas as well as a CSS course in CT. This background has also given me insight into the RH titles offered by USCA, and I am pleased to be able to judge the RH-V levels at this time.
My Accomplishments in the sport:
• Titled 7 H.O.T. dogs to IGP3 (working on my next!)
• Titled 2 Dutch Shepherds from my breeding to FH1 titles (the original version!!) a Malinois to FH2 and a German Shepherd to multiple IGP-FH titles. I am proud to have been selected as alternate on the FCI IGP-FH 2026 World Championship Team with that dog
• Earned 125 Schutzhund titles ( with 21 different dogs, including German Shepherd, Dutch Shepherd, Malinois and Doberman)
• Competed in multiple National Schutzhund Championships and Regional Championships
• Earned Performance Award at National Sieger Show with my female German Shepherd
• Showed female German Shepherd in multiple Regional Conformation Shows and the National Show, and completed her Breed Survey, ang.(lbz), SG1. She has been the North Central Region Universal Siegerin from 2022-2025 . Accomplishments in other dog venues: • Showed Small Munsterlander Pointers and Dutch Shepherds from our breeding, to Conformation Championships in UKC
• Trained and titled Small Munsterlander Pointers in NAVHDA
• Titled two dogs that I trained to Mondioring1 titles
• Previously judged AKC CGC, nosework and 4-H dog obedience
• Trained service dogs for two autistic children, one being non-verbal.
I have held a number of positions within the USCA organization: Director at Large, Regional Director, Club President, Regional Breed Warden.
I am blessed to be able to give back to the organization through judging and by these positions. I find that my diverse background with multiple breeds, different dog sports and also being active in the both the performance and conformation aspects gives me a well-rounded outlook. I thoroughly enjoy meeting sports friends from around the country. When I am not judging you will find me training with my club, walking a million miles for those IGP-FH tracks, camping (my husband and I love to explore the Western States in particular), attending powwows and rodeos and visiting historical sites, taking photographs and trying my hand at new crafts. Oh yes, and drinking coffee. I hope to see YOU soon!
